Although everyone has the same set of genes, individuals can have different forms of the same gene.\n* Differences in genes may explain, at least in part, why some people develop a more aggressive form of prostate cancer than others.\n\nObjectives:\n\n-To obtain blood samples from patients with prostate cancer to try to identify gene differences associated with progression to the androgen independent state.\n\nEligibility:\n\n-All participants participating in NCI prostate cancer protocols.\n\nDesign:\n\n* Participants with prostate cancer are evaluated in the NCI s Medical Oncology Clinic.\n* Blood samples are collected at the initial visit or at follow-up visits.\n* DNA (genetic material) and white blood cells are extracted from these samples to be used for genotyping and establishment of cell lines.\n* Gene variations are correlated with prostate cancer prognosis and prognostic indicators.",[55,56,57,58,59],"Cancer Of Prostate","Prostate Cancer","Prostatic Neoplasms","Metastatic Prostate Cancer","Prostate",[61,57,62,63,64,65,56],"Genetic","Genotyping","Venipuncture","Polymorphism","Natural History","2026-06-05",{"date":68,"type":69},"2026-06-08","ACTUAL",{"date":71,"type":69},"2007-02-28",{"name":15,"class":6},1]
