The intervention group will receive a screw-retained FDP with conical engaging and non engaging abutment configuration, while the comparator group will a screw-retained FDP with both conical non engaging abutment configuration. The primary outcome is changes in marginal bone levels, and the secondary outcomes include technical and mechanical complications, biological complications, and patient satisfaction.\n\nBoth groups will receive 2 internal connection implants in the posterior mandible in healed sites of at least 3 months (guided implant surgery). The surgical procedure will follow standardized protocols, with no variations between groups other than the types of implant abutment connections used.\n\nBlinded assessors will perform radiographic and clinical evaluations at designated follow-up visits: definitive loading, after 6 months of loading, after 2 years loading.",[39,45],{"label":40,"type":41,"description":42,"interventionNames":43},"hexed non hexed","EXPERIMENTAL","a 3-unit screw-retained implant bridge over two conical internal hex implants will be supported using hexed and non hexed abutments",[44],"Device: hexed non hexed",{"label":46,"type":47,"description":48,"interventionNames":49},"non hexed non hexed","ACTIVE_COMPARATOR","a 3-unit screw-retained implant bridge over two conical internal hex implants will be supported using two non-hexed abutments",[50],"Device: non-hexed non-hexed",[52,56],{"type":53,"name":40,"description":54,"armGroupLabels":55,"otherNames":24},"DEVICE","A 3-unit screw-retained implant bridge over two conical internal hex implants will be supported using one hexed and one non-hexed abutment.",[40],{"type":53,"name":57,"description":48,"armGroupLabels":58,"otherNames":24},"non-hexed non-hexed",[46],[60,65],{"name":61,"role":62,"phone":63,"phoneExt":24,"email":64},"Mohammad A AL-Rababáh","CONTACT","00962792131548","malrababah@ju.edu.jo",{"name":66,"role":62,"phone":67,"phoneExt":24,"email":68},"Nour G Rababah","00962791929271","nur.rababah96@gmail.com",[70],{"facility":71,"status":72,"city":73,"state":24,"zip":24,"country":74,"countryCode":75,"cosmosGeoPoint":76,"geoPoint":81,"contacts":82},"Jordan University Hospital","RECRUITING","Amman","Jordan","JO",{"type":77,"coordinates":78},"Point",[79,80],35.94503,31.95522,{"lat":80,"lon":79},[83],{"name":61,"role":62,"phone":63,"phoneExt":24,"email":64},{"type":85,"investigatorFullName":86,"investigatorTitle":87,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":24,"oldOrganization":24},"PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR","Mohammad AL-Rababáh","Associate Professor","100571090",false,"NCT06715722","Comparison of Abutments Engagement Configurations in Implant Supported Fixed Partial Dentures","Comparison of Abutments Engagement Configurations in Implant Supported Fixed Partial Dentures: a Randomized Clinical Trial","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Adult patients with edentulous span in the posterior mandible of 3 missing teeth.\n* Candidates for an implant supported FDP in the posterior mandible.\n* Teeth in area of interest extracted at least 3 months prior.\n* Bone grafting not needed or only minor GBR needed.\n* Controlled oral hygiene.\n* Sufficient bone volume.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients with edentulous span of less than 3 missing teeth (not eligible to receive a 3 unit 2 implant supported FDP)\n* Patients with healing period of extraction sites less than 3 months.\n* Extensive bone grafting required prior to or during implant placement.\n* Active Bruxism.\n* Heavy smoker (\\> 10 cigarettes).\n* Systemic diseases that might affect bone healing.\n* Patients who are not willing or unable to give consent.",true,"ALL","18 Years",{"count":98,"type":99},24,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[102],"NA","This study focuses on the comparison of different implant abutment connections configurations in implant supported screw retained fixed dental prostheses assessing their clinical and radiographic outcomes and to evaluate which implant abutment connection configuration have less biological and technical complications.",[105],"Dental Implant",[107,108,109,110,111,112],"Implant abutment connection","Dental implant","Fixed dental prosthesis","Engaging abutment","Non-engaging abutment","Conical connections","2024-11-28",{"date":115,"type":116},"2024-12-04","ACTUAL",{"date":118,"type":116},"2024-11-11",{"date":120,"type":99},"2025-11-10",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
