Consecutive pediatric patients aged 1-18 years with respiratory insufficiency or impaired peripheral perfusion requiring vasopressor support will be included if repeated blood gas sampling is clinically indicated.\n\nPaired measurements of tPCO₂ and PaCO₂ will be analyzed using Bland-Altman methods with correction for repeated measures. Subgroup analyses will evaluate the influence of vasopressor therapy on measurement accuracy. Secondary analyses will compare tPO₂ and PaO₂ values. The study aims to define the clinical applicability and limitations of transcutaneous capnometry in critically ill pediatric patients.","Critically ill pediatric patients admitted to a tertiary PICU with respiratory insufficiency or circulatory compromise.",[30],{"name":31,"role":32,"phone":33,"phoneExt":23,"email":34},"Hana Harazim, MD, PhD","CONTACT","+420777146704","hana.harazim@gmail.com",[36],{"facility":37,"status":38,"city":39,"state":23,"zip":40,"country":41,"countryCode":23,"cosmosGeoPoint":42,"geoPoint":47,"contacts":48},"University Hospital Brno","RECRUITING","Brno","61300","Czechia",{"type":43,"coordinates":44},"Point",[45,46],16.60796,49.19522,{"lat":46,"lon":45},[49,54],{"name":50,"role":32,"phone":51,"phoneExt":52,"email":53},"Daniel Diabelko, MD","727845778","00420","diabelko.daniel@fnbrno.cz",{"name":31,"role":32,"phone":55,"phoneExt":52,"email":56},"777146704","harazim.hana@fnbrno.cz",{"type":58,"investigatorFullName":59,"investigatorTitle":60,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":23,"oldOrganization":23},"PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR","Petr Štourač, MD","prof. In pediatric intensive care patients, it may reduce the need for repeated arterial or arterialized blood sampling. However, the accuracy of tPCO₂ may be influenced by factors such as peripheral perfusion, skin temperature, and vasopressor therapy.
