Indeed, endophtalmitis are often germ-free because a lack of microbiological diagnosis due to small volume to analyze and a complex site to attain. The microbiological etiologies of corneal abscesses are more frequently identified.\n\nSince few years, new molecular tools are developed in infectious diseases to optimizing the microbiological diagnosis. The investigators implemented these techniques in our hospital to optimize the microbiological diagnosis of complex ocular infection (COI). Thus, endophtalmitis benefit, when the volume of the ocular sample is sufficient, of molecular techniques (16s PCR and metagenomic shotgun). Corneal abscesses could shortly benefit of multiplex PCR in order to reduce the time to diagnosis.\n\nThe impact and accuracy of these techniques is unknown.","Patient presenting or having presented a clinical suspicion of complex ocular infection requiring a sample for microbiological diagnosis",[37],{"label":38,"type":30,"description":39,"interventionNames":40},"Complex ocular infections (COI)","All patients with an COI (endophtalmitis or hospitalized keratitis)",[41],"Diagnostic Test: NGS for endohtalmitis \u002F Multiplex PCR for keratitis",[43],{"type":44,"name":45,"description":46,"armGroupLabels":47,"otherNames":48},"DIAGNOSTIC_TEST","NGS for endohtalmitis \u002F Multiplex PCR for keratitis","For endophtalmitis : optimizing culture and NGS will be realized\n\nFor keratitis: Multiplex PCR will be added on ocular samples",[38],[49],"Bundle of intervervention to optimizing diagnosis of ocular complex infections",[51],{"name":52,"affiliation":5,"role":53},"Etienne CANOUI, MD","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[55,59],{"name":52,"role":56,"phone":57,"phoneExt":30,"email":58},"CONTACT","0033158414267","etienne.canoui@aphp.fr",{"name":60,"role":56,"phone":61,"phoneExt":30,"email":62},"Marie BENHAMMANI-GODARD","0033158411190","marie.godard@aphp.fr",[64],{"facility":65,"status":66,"city":67,"state":68,"zip":69,"country":70,"countryCode":71,"cosmosGeoPoint":72,"geoPoint":77,"contacts":78},"Equipe mobile d'infectiologie, Cochin hospital","RECRUITING","Paris","IDF","75014","France","FR",{"type":73,"coordinates":74},"Point",[75,76],2.3488,48.85341,{"lat":76,"lon":75},[79,80],{"name":52,"role":56,"phone":57,"phoneExt":30,"email":58},{"name":60,"role":56,"phone":61,"phoneExt":30,"email":62},{"type":82,"investigatorFullName":30,"investigatorTitle":30,"investigatorAffiliation":30,"oldNameTitle":30,"oldOrganization":30},"SPONSOR",[84],{"name":85,"class":6},"URC-CIC Paris Descartes Necker Cochin","100472473",false,"NCT05432336","Complex Ocular Infection, Optimization of Microbiological Diagnosis","ICODIA","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Adult patient\n* Patient presenting or having presented a clinical suspicion of complex ocular infection requiring a sample for microbiological diagnosis:\n\n * Corneal abscess requiring hospitalization\n * Any suspicion of endogenous or exogenous endophthalmitis.\n* Patient not opposed to participating in the research\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patient under guardianship or curatorship\n* Pregnant women","ALL","18 Years",{"count":95,"type":96},153,"ESTIMATED","OBSERVATIONAL","The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of different technique to optimize the microbiological diagnosis of the COI.\n\n* Metagenomic for the endophtalmitis\n* Multiplex polymerase chain reaction for corneal abscesses",[100,101],"Endophthalmitis","Keratitis",[103,104,105,106,107],"Endogenous Endophtalmitis","exogenous endophtalmitis","keratitis","PCR","NGS","2025-09-08",{"date":110,"type":111},"2025-09-15","ACTUAL",{"date":113,"type":111},"2023-11-21",{"date":115,"type":96},"2026-01",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
