The AD-seeds-detector could detect small quantities of Aβ and Tau seeds by taking advantage of their ability to nucleate and enhance aggregation, enabling a very high amplification of the signal. This study examines the effectiveness of using the AD-seeds-detector as a novel technique for discriminating AD from cognitively normal control and non-AD dementia by detecting small Aβ and Tau seeds in plasma.\n\nThis will be an observational study aiming at using the AD-seeds-detector to detect minute amounts of Aβ and Tau seeds in plasma as novel biomarkers with high sensitivity and specificity for the accurate diagnosis of AD. To achieve this goal, the investigators will conduct two studies using the AD-seeds-detector to detect the Aβ and Tau seeds in the plasma samples.\n\nStudy one:\n\nA single-center cohort that consists of well-characterized AD patients (n=150), cognitively normal controls (n=100) and non-AD dementia patients (n=50).\n\nStudy two:\n\nA multi-center cohort with well-characterized AD patients (n=400), cognitively normal controls (n=400) and non-AD dementia patients (n=400).","Study one: (1) AD patients (n=150); (2) cognitively normal controls (n=100); (3) non-AD dementia patients (n=50).\n\nStudy two: (1) AD patients (n=400); (2) cognitively normal controls (n=400); (3) non-AD dementia patients (n=400).",[39,42,45],{"label":40,"type":32,"description":41,"interventionNames":32},"Alzheimer's disease","Criteria for AD according to the 2011 NIA-AA",{"label":43,"type":32,"description":44,"interventionNames":32},"Non-AD dementia","Frontotemporal dementia (FTD); or Parkinson's disease dementia (PDD); or dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB); or vascular dementia (VaD); or corticobasal degeneration (CBD); or dementia not otherwise specified.",{"label":46,"type":32,"description":47,"interventionNames":32},"Cognitively normal controls","Individuals with normal cognitive function",[49],{"name":50,"role":51,"phone":52,"phoneExt":32,"email":53},"Jianping Jia, Doctor","CONTACT","8610-83199449","jiajp@vip.126.com",[55],{"facility":56,"status":57,"city":58,"state":59,"zip":60,"country":61,"countryCode":62,"cosmosGeoPoint":63,"geoPoint":68,"contacts":69},"Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University","RECRUITING","Beijing","Beijing Municipality","100053","China","CN",{"type":64,"coordinates":65},"Point",[66,67],116.39723,39.9075,{"lat":67,"lon":66},[70],{"name":50,"role":51,"phone":52,"phoneExt":32,"email":53},{"type":72,"investigatorFullName":73,"investigatorTitle":74,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":32,"oldOrganization":32},"PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR","Jianping Jia","Chief Director",[76,79,81,83,85,87,90,92,94,96],{"name":77,"class":78},"Shandong Provincial Hospital","OTHER_GOV",{"name":80,"class":6},"Xiangya Hospital of Central South University",{"name":82,"class":6},"Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital",{"name":84,"class":6},"Beijing Geriatric Hospital",{"name":86,"class":6},"Kaifeng Central Hospital",{"name":88,"class":89},"The First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical Universty","UNKNOWN",{"name":91,"class":6},"Huashan Hospital",{"name":93,"class":6},"First Affiliated Hospital Xi'an Jiaotong University",{"name":95,"class":6},"West China Hospital",{"name":97,"class":6},"Henan Provincial People's Hospital","100427749",false,"NCT04850053","Detection of Alzheimer's Disease (AD)-Related Seeds for AD Diagnosis","Detection of Alzheimer's Disease (AD)-Related Seeds as Biomarkers for Accurate Diagnosis of AD（AD-seeds-detector）","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Aged 55-75.
