During these treatments, an implantable central venous access (port-a catheter) is often utilized to avoid the inconvenience of repeated needle insertions for treatment and to minimize the risk of medication leakage. Port-A catheters are considered a safer clinical measure. However, poor care and maintenance of the catheter can lead to complications such as infection, catheter damage, and leakage, which can even result in death. The study aims to assess the impact of patient discharge education on their knowledge and satisfaction regarding catheter care.\n\nMethods： This study focuses on patient education and evaluating its effectiveness. It employs a prospective randomized controlled trial with a cross-sectional design and parallel groups. The participants are divided into the 3D model group (experimental group) and the conventional education group (control group). A total of 120 subjects from the hematology-oncology ward are included in the study. The participants are randomly assigned to either the experimental group (60 participants) or the control group (60 participants) based on the month of admission, following a cluster randomization approach.\n\nEffect： The investigator anticipate that the use of a 3D-printed upper body Port-A catheter model will yield better results in patient discharge education.",[21,27],{"label":22,"type":23,"description":24,"interventionNames":25},"3D model group","EXPERIMENTAL","Received a explanation combined with 3D printed model",[26],"Other: 3D health education model",{"label":28,"type":29,"description":30,"interventionNames":31},"traditional education group","ACTIVE_COMPARATOR","Received a regular education",[32],"Other: traditional education",[34,38],{"type":6,"name":35,"description":36,"armGroupLabels":37,"otherNames":13},"3D health education model","explanation combined with 3D printed health education model",[22],{"type":6,"name":39,"description":40,"armGroupLabels":41,"otherNames":13},"traditional education","Regular education",[28],[43],{"name":44,"affiliation":45,"role":46},"Ke-Yun Chao, PhD","Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[48],{"name":44,"role":49,"phone":50,"phoneExt":13,"email":51},"CONTACT","+886905301879","C00152@mail.fjuh.fju.edu.tw",[53],{"facility":54,"status":55,"city":56,"state":13,"zip":57,"country":58,"countryCode":59,"cosmosGeoPoint":60,"geoPoint":65,"contacts":66},"Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital, Fu Jen Catholic University","RECRUITING","New Taipei City","24352","Taiwan","TW",{"type":61,"coordinates":62},"Point",[63,64],121.45703,25.06199,{"lat":64,"lon":63},[67,70],{"name":44,"role":49,"phone":68,"phoneExt":13,"email":69},"+886-905-301-879","ck_qq@hotmail.com",{"name":44,"role":46,"phone":13,"phoneExt":13,"email":13},{"type":46,"investigatorFullName":72,"investigatorTitle":73,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":13,"oldOrganization":13},"Ke-Yun, Chao","Group leader of Respiratory Therapists","100548153",false,"NCT06417294","Effects of a 3D-Printed Port-A Catheter Model Training Course","Effects of a 3D-Printed Port-A Catheter Model Training Course for Patient Discharge Instruction","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Admitted to the hematology and oncology ward of Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital\n* Have Chinese communication skills\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Refused to participate in the study.","ALL","18 Years","80 Years",{"count":84,"type":85},120,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[88],"NA","The aim of this study is to develop a highly realistic 3D-printed Port-A catheter upper body model to improve the knowledge and self-care skills of patients and primary caregivers regarding Port-A catheter placement through patient education.",[91,92],"Patient Satisfaction","Cancer",[94,95,96],"3D printed model","port-a catheter","discharge education","2024-06-07",{"date":99,"type":100},"2024-06-10","ACTUAL",{"date":102,"type":100},"2024-06-01",{"date":104,"type":85},"2024-12-31",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
