Emerging preclinical and clinical evidence suggests that early initiation of low to medium doses of gabapentin and continued delivery for a range of 2 weeks to 4 months has a persistent, positive effect on motor and autonomic neurologic recovery. The objective of the proposed study is to conduct the first ever prospective, dose-exploration trial to test the early administration of gabapentin as an intervention for neurorecovery. A mock efficacy design will be employed. Participants will be stratified based on ASIA Impairment Scale (AIS) grade A-B or C-D and randomized to 1 of 3 arms. Study medication will be initiated within 5 days post-injury and administered for 90 days. Participants will be followed for an additional 90 days after stopping treatment.",[36,42,46],{"label":37,"type":38,"description":39,"interventionNames":40},"Low dose","EXPERIMENTAL","600mg treatment group will receive 2 capsules of gabapentin by mouth 3 times per day for 90 days.",[41],"Drug: Gabapentin",{"label":43,"type":38,"description":44,"interventionNames":45},"Medium dose","1800 mg treatment groups will receive 2 capsules of gabapentin by mouth 3 times per day for 90 days.",[41],{"label":47,"type":48,"description":49,"interventionNames":50},"Control","PLACEBO_COMPARATOR","The control group will receive 2 placebo capsules of inert cellulose by mouth 3 times per day for 90 days.",[51],"Drug: Placebo",[53,58],{"type":54,"name":55,"description":56,"armGroupLabels":57,"otherNames":24},"DRUG","Gabapentin","Generic gabapentin",[37,43],{"type":54,"name":59,"description":60,"armGroupLabels":61,"otherNames":24},"Placebo","Inert cellulose",[47],[63],{"name":64,"affiliation":65,"role":66},"Dr. Kimberly Anderson, PhD","Metrohealth Medical Center-Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[68],{"name":69,"role":70,"phone":71,"phoneExt":24,"email":72},"Mayson Moore","CONTACT","216-957-3518","mmoore12@metrohealth.org",[74],{"facility":5,"status":75,"city":76,"state":77,"zip":78,"country":79,"countryCode":80,"cosmosGeoPoint":81,"geoPoint":86,"contacts":87},"RECRUITING","Cleveland","Ohio","44109","United States","US",{"type":82,"coordinates":83},"Point",[84,85],-81.69541,41.4995,{"lat":85,"lon":84},[88],{"name":69,"role":70,"phone":71,"phoneExt":24,"email":72},{"type":66,"investigatorFullName":90,"investigatorTitle":91,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":24,"oldOrganization":24},"Kimberly Anderson, PhD","Director, Northeast Ohio Regional SCI Model System",[93],{"name":94,"class":95},"National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research","FED","100462541",false,"NCT05302999","Feasibility of Early Gabapentin as an Intervention for Neurorecovery","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n1.
