The study design for this mapping process will include five steps in this 1-year proposal: (1) conduct a needs and assets assessment and identify implementers; (2) identify implementation outcomes and determinants; (3) choose mechanisms of change and design implementation strategies; (4) produce implementation protocols and materials; and prepare for the final step, (5) evaluate implementation outcomes, by selecting outcome measures for a future trial . This disciplined and systematic approach to intervention development will directly inform my future directions: a mixed methods feasibility trial to pilot the implementation strategy developed here, followed by a full-scale randomized trial to test the strategy's effectiveness in reducing diabetes risk.",[9],[20],"Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research",[22],{"name":23,"affiliation":24,"role":25},"Adrienne Hoyt-Austin, DO, MAS, IBCLC","UC Davis Health","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[27,31],{"name":23,"role":28,"phone":29,"phoneExt":10,"email":30},"CONTACT","916-734-4580","aehoyt@health.ucdavis.edu",{"name":32,"role":28,"phone":33,"phoneExt":10,"email":34},"Elva T Horath, MD","510-910-4443","ethorath@health.ucdavis.edu",[36],{"facility":37,"status":38,"city":39,"state":40,"zip":41,"country":42,"cosmosGeoPoint":43,"geoPoint":48,"contacts":49},"UC Davis Medical Center","RECRUITING","Sacramento","California","95817","United States",{"type":44,"coordinates":45},"Point",[46,47],-121.4944,38.58157,{"lat":47,"lon":46},[50,52],{"name":51,"role":28,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},"Elva Horath, MD",{"name":53,"role":28,"phone":10,"phoneExt":10,"email":10},"Adrienne Hoyt-Austin, DO",{"type":55,"investigatorFullName":10,"investigatorTitle":10,"investigatorAffiliation":10,"oldNameTitle":10,"oldOrganization":10},"SPONSOR",[57],{"name":58,"class":59},"National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)","NIH","100606533",false,"NCT07176793","Pregnancy and Postpartum Breastfeeding Support for Patients With Gestational Diabetes","Preventing Type 2 Diabetes Following Gestational Diabetes: Implementation Mapping for a Multilevel Breastfeeding Support Strategy","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* ≥18 years old and able to communicate in English\n* Fits into one of the following:\n\n 1. patients with GDM who are recently pregnant and\u002For postpartum;\n 2. health care providers (nurses, physicians, lactation consultants, etc.) who would implement the strategy\n 3. executive leadership\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Subjects not meeting the inclusion criteria will be considered ineligible for participation",true,"ALL","18 Years",{"count":70,"type":71},10,"ESTIMATED","OBSERVATIONAL","The investigators will use implementation methods to develop better breastfeeding support for patients with gestational diabetes as a way to prevent type 2 diabetes.",[75,76,77,78],"Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM)","Diabetes Type 2","Breastfeeding Continuation","Breastfeeding Support",[80,81,82,83,84,85],"Gestational Diabetes","Preventing Diabetes Type 2 after GDM","Breastfeeding","Focus Groups","Implementation mapping","Breastfeeding support strategy","2026-04-01",{"date":88,"type":89},"2026-04-07","ACTUAL",{"date":91,"type":89},"2026-03-23",{"date":93,"type":71},"2026-06-30",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
