The effect will be measured using quality-adjusted life-years (QUALY). Quality of life and overall survival are therefore primary endpoints. Secondary endpoints are the ability to perform basic activities of daily life (Barthel (ADL) index), progression-free survival, local and locoregional progression-free survival, extracranial progression, toxicity and its treatment, the recording of postherapeutic radiation-induced brain lesions (RIBL), long-term cognitive function, a possible salvage therapy as well as death from brain metastases. Furthermore, die CyberChallenge trial is linked to a translational program via BUB2 study. The BUB2 study conducts biobanking of blood, urine and resection or biopsy material, if available, as well as collects imaging material. This is to find diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in our cancer patients via analyzing genetic, epigenetic and protein expression patterns as well as radiomics and correlating them to clinical data and therefore further push individualized patient care in brain metastases forward.",[59,65],{"label":60,"type":61,"description":62,"interventionNames":63},"Experimental Treatment Arm","EXPERIMENTAL","Best Supportive Care + Stereotactic Radiotherapy of all Brain Metastases",[64],"Radiation: SRS",{"label":66,"type":6,"description":67,"interventionNames":68},"Standard Treatment Arm","Best Supportive Care ± Whole Brain Radiotherapy",[69],"Radiation: Whole Brain Radiotherapy",[71,76],{"type":72,"name":73,"description":74,"armGroupLabels":75,"otherNames":50},"RADIATION","SRS","Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SRS)",[60],{"type":72,"name":77,"description":78,"armGroupLabels":79,"otherNames":50},"Whole Brain Radiotherapy","Whole Brain Radiotherapy (WBRT)",[66],[81],{"name":82,"affiliation":83,"role":84},"Juergen Debus, Prof.","Head of Department","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[86,92],{"name":87,"role":88,"phone":89,"phoneExt":90,"email":91},"Tanja Eichkorn, MD","CONTACT","06221 56","8201","tanja.eichkorn@med.uni-heidelbeg.de",{"name":93,"role":88,"phone":89,"phoneExt":94,"email":95},"Adriane Hommertgen, Phd","34091","adriane.hommertgen@med.uni-heidelberg.de",[97],{"facility":98,"status":99,"city":100,"state":50,"zip":101,"country":102,"countryCode":103,"cosmosGeoPoint":104,"geoPoint":109,"contacts":110},"University Hospital of Heidelberg, Radiation Oncology","RECRUITING","Heidelberg","69120","Germany","DE",{"type":105,"coordinates":106},"Point",[107,108],8.69079,49.40768,{"lat":108,"lon":107},[111,116],{"name":112,"role":88,"phone":113,"phoneExt":114,"email":115},"Jürgen Debus, Prof. Dr.","+49-6221-56","8202","juergen.debus@med.uni-heidelberg.de",{"name":117,"role":88,"phone":113,"phoneExt":94,"email":95},"Adriane Hommertgen",{"type":84,"investigatorFullName":119,"investigatorTitle":83,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":50,"oldOrganization":50},"Juergen Debus","100468350",false,"NCT05378633","The CyberChallenge Trial How Much is Too Much - What is the Role of Cyberknife Radiosurgery in Patients With Multiple Brain Metastases?","CyberChallenge","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* histologically confirmed malignant illness\n* 4-15 suspect intracranial lesions, taking into consideration all available MRI series\n* age ≥ 18 years of age\n* For women with childbearing potential, (and men) adequate contraception.\n* Ability of subject to understand character and individual consequences of the clinical trial\n* Written informed consent (must be available before enrolment in the trial)\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Refusal of the patients to take part in the study\n* Inability to tolerate irradiation consistent with the protocol\n* Small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) or lymphoma as primary malignant illness\n* \\>15 suspect intracranial lesions, taking into consideration all available MRI series\n* leptomeningeal disease\n* Previous radiotherapy of the brain\n* Patients who have not yet recovered from acute high-grade toxicities of prior therapies\n* Pregnant or lactating women\n* Participation in another competing clinical study or observation period of competing trials, respectively\n* MRI contraindication (i.e. cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, certain cardiac valve replacements, certain metal implants)","ALL","18 Years",{"count":129,"type":130},190,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[133],"NA","Patients suffering from malignancies in advanced stages often develop brain metastases, which limit both the life span and the quality of life.\n\nTherapy options for multiple brain metastases may vary and range from stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT), chemotherapy, immunotherapy to palliative best supportive care.
