Hematopoeitic stem cell transplant (HSCT) is a potentially curative treatment option however remains a high-toxicity treatment with a high risk of severe complications. The optimal format of rehabilitation needed by patients undergoing HSCT is unclear.\n\nA prospective, longitudinal cohort study will be conducted to evaluate the effects of treatment on patients undergoing HSCT. The objectives are this study are: (1) to investigate the impact of HSCT on physical performance, quality of life and fatigue before and over 12 months from HSCT; (2) to investigate the effect of pre-transplantation factors associated with outcomes post HSCT and identify potentially modifiable factors; (3) to compare changes in outcomes between older (aged ≥60 years) and younger (18-59 years) patients.\n\nOverall this project will determine the impact of treatment on the physical performance of patients undergoing HSCT.","Patients undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplant.",[55],{"label":56,"type":49,"description":57,"interventionNames":49},"Patients undergoing haematopoeitic stem cell transplant","Patients who are listed for allogeneic stem cell transplant.",[59],{"name":60,"role":61,"phone":62,"phoneExt":49,"email":63},"Grainne Sheill, PhD","CONTACT","+353 879403733","sheillg@tcd.ie",{"type":65,"investigatorFullName":66,"investigatorTitle":67,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":49,"oldOrganization":49},"PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR","Grainne Sheill","Assistant Professor",[69],{"name":70,"class":6},"Health Research Board, Ireland","100640813",false,"NCT07581093","The REACT Study: REhabilitation and ACTivity in Allogenic Transplant","A Longitudinal Study of Physical Function in Patients Undergoing Allogenic Stem Cell Transplant.","REACT","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients who are listed for allogeneic stem cell transplant.\n* Ability to provide written informed consent\n* Over 18 years old\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Nil","ALL","18 Years",{"count":81,"type":82},140,"ESTIMATED","OBSERVATIONAL","A prospective, longitudinal cohort study will be conducted to evaluate the effects of treatment on the physical function of patients undergoing Allogeneic Hematopoeitic Stem Cell Transplant.",[86],"Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (Allo-HSCT)",[88,89,90],"Stem Cell Transplantation","Physical Functional Performance","Physical Activity","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-05-06",{"date":94,"type":95},"2026-05-12","ACTUAL",{"date":97,"type":82},"2026-05-01",{"date":99,"type":82},"2029-12-28",{"name":5,"class":6}]
