Contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI), formerly referred to as contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN), is one of the most common causes of acute kidney injury in patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving ICM.\n\nThe study was designed as a retrospective, single-centre, cross-sectional, cohort, case-control study. All consecutive patients hospitalized from 01.01.2020 to 30.09.2025 who underwent coronary angiography or PCI will be eligible for inclusion. The final analysis will be limited to individuals in whom the volume of ICM administered during the index procedure was between 50 and 500 mL and for whom both pre- and post-procedure serum creatinine measurements were available.\n\nThe primary objective of the study is the effect of short-term and long-term SGLT2i therapy on the occurrence of CI-AKI in patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures with ICM.\n\nThe analysis of the baseline characteristics of the study population is planned.\n\nBased on the results of the study, a meta-analysis combining the results of previously published studies with those of the present study will be performed.\n\nKey variables to be analyzed: type and volume of ICM; serum creatinine concentration at baseline, 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h after the procedure; eGFR at baseline, 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h; use of SGLT2i within 3 days prior to the procedure; long-term use of SGLT2i; type of SGLT2i administered.","Retrospective analysis of data obtained from patients hospitalized between 2020 and 2025 in the Department of Cardiology and Internal Medicine, who underwent coronary angiography or PCI.\n\nThe final analysis will be limited to individuals in whom the volume of ICM administered during the index procedure was between 50 and 500 mL and for whom both pre- and post-procedure serum creatinine measurements were available",[39,44],{"label":40,"type":32,"description":41,"interventionNames":42},"Patients using any flozin at the time of coronary intervention","Patients who underwent percutaneous coronary procedures while using empagliflozin or dapagliflozin in a standard 10 mg daily dose",[43],"Drug: Flozin",{"label":45,"type":32,"description":46,"interventionNames":32},"Patients not using any flozin","Patients who underwent percutaneous coronary interventions but were not using any flozins",[48],{"type":49,"name":50,"description":51,"armGroupLabels":52,"otherNames":53},"DRUG","Flozin","Patients who underwent percutaneous coronary interventions while using empagliflozin or dapagliflozin",[40],[54,55,56,57],"Empagliflozin","Jardiance","Dapagliflozin","Forxiga",[59],{"name":60,"affiliation":5,"role":61},"Jacek Kubica, Prof.","PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR",[63],{"name":64,"role":65,"phone":66,"phoneExt":32,"email":67},"Piotr Niezgoda, MD, PhD","CONTACT","+48525854023","piotr.niezgoda1986@gmail.com",[69],{"facility":5,"status":70,"city":71,"state":32,"zip":72,"country":73,"countryCode":74,"cosmosGeoPoint":75,"geoPoint":80,"contacts":81},"RECRUITING","Bydgoszcz","85-094","Poland","PL",{"type":76,"coordinates":77},"Point",[78,79],18.00762,53.1235,{"lat":79,"lon":78},[82],{"name":64,"role":65,"phone":66,"phoneExt":32,"email":67},{"type":61,"investigatorFullName":84,"investigatorTitle":85,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":32,"oldOrganization":32},"Jacek Kubica","Professor","100610773",false,"NCT07231939","Use of Flozins (Empagliflozin\u002FDapagliflozin) for Prevention of AKI","FLOzins for pREveNtion of Contrast-inducEd Acute Kidney Injury (FLORENCE) Study","FLORENCE","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* all consecutive patients who underwent PCI or coronary angiography during the study period for whom the variables required for the analysis are available\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* unavailability of variables required for the analysis, volume\n* contrast agent volume \\\u003C50 mL or \\>500 mL.","ALL","18 Years",{"count":96,"type":97},4000,"ESTIMATED","OBSERVATIONAL","All consecutive patients hospitalized from 01.01.2020 to 30.09.2025 who underwent coronary angiography or PCI will be eligible for inclusion.\n\nThe final analysis will be limited to individuals in whom the volume of ICM administered during the index procedure was between 50 and 500 mL and for whom both pre- and post-procedure serum creatinine measurements were available.\n\nThe primary objective of the study is the effect of short-term and long-term SGLT2i therapy on the occurrence of CI-AKI in patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures with ICM.",[101,102,103,104],"Coronary Artery Disease","Acute Kidney Injury","Contrast-Induced Acute Kidney Injury","Percutaneous Coronary Intervention",[106,107,108,109,110],"AKI","contrast-induced acute kidney injury","PCI","coronary angiography","acute kidney injury","2025-11-14",{"date":113,"type":114},"2025-11-17","ACTUAL",{"date":116,"type":114},"2025-11-01",{"date":118,"type":97},"2026-03-31",{"name":5,"class":6},1]
