Colchicine, an anti-inflammatory agent traditionally used for gout and pericarditis, has emerged as a potential therapy in cardiovascular disease due to its ability to inhibit microtubule polymerization and suppress interleukin-1β and the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway.\n\nCOLCOT and LoDoCo2 trails have demonstrated the efficacy of colchicine in reducing cardiovascular events in patients with coronary artery disease.\n\nHowever, more recent trials, including OASIS 9 and COVERT-MI trials did not support the use of a short-term colchicine treatment at the acute phase of ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) to reduce infarct size and improve outcomes. Limited data exist on the peri-procedural use of colchicine in non-ST elevation myocardial infarction patients undergoing PCI.\n\nThis study proposes to assess whether a loading dose of colchicine before PCI, followed by 3-months maintenance therapy, can improve short-term clinical outcomes and inflammatory markers in non- STEMI patients.",[24],"Non ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction",[26,27,28],"Colchicine","Inflammation","Non-STEMI","RECRUITING","2025-08-19",{"date":32,"type":33},"2025-08-27","ACTUAL",{"date":35,"type":33},"2025-08-10",{"date":37,"type":18},"2026-09",{"name":39,"class":40},"Assiut University","OTHER",1,{"id":43,"slug":4,"hasResults":10,"nctId":44,"briefTitle":45,"officialTitle":46,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":47,"healthyVolunteers":10,"sex":14,"minAge":15,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":48,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":19,"phases":50,"briefSummary":52,"conditions":53,"keywords":4,"overallStatus":29,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":58,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":59,"startDateStruct":61,"completionDateStruct":63,"leadSponsor":65,"locationsCount":41},"100532683","NCT06215989","Treatment of ACuTe Coronary Syndromes With Low-dose colchICine","Treatment of ACuTe Coronary Syndromes With Low-dose colchICine (TACTIC): a Randomised, Double-blinded, Placebo-controlled, Multicentric Trial","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Age ≥ 18 years;\n* Definite diagnosis of ACS;\n* Ability and willingness to provide written informed consent\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Type 2 myocardial infarction (Patients with symptoms or signs of myocardial ischemia and evidence of increased oxygen demand or decreased supply \\[for example, tachyarrhythmia, hypotension, or anaemia\\] secondary to an alternative pathology and myocardial necrosis are defined as suffering type 2 myocardial infarction.
