Electrical Impedance Tomography for Assessment of Pulmonary Hypertension

Pulmonary hypertension is a serious and progressive disease that is difficult to treat and diagnose, mainly because its symptoms are nonspecific and often delay recognition. Early diagnosis is a major challenge. Although several tests may suggest the disease, the definitive diagnosis still requires right heart catheterization, an invasive procedure that directly measures pulmonary hemodynamics such as pulmonary artery pressure, cardiac output, and vascular resistance. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a non-invasive, radiation-free bedside monitoring method that can evaluate ventilation and pulmonary perfusion. The number of studies investigating perfusion with EIT has been increasing, since the possibility of having a safe, radiation-free, and repeatable method available at the bedside is of great clinical interest in different fields of medicine. Our hypothesis is that EIT provides information that correlates with the findings of right heart catheterization in patients with suspected pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). EIT may serve as a useful screening tool prior to catheterization and may also help in risk stratification of patients with pulmonary hypertension

The Caribbean Registry of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) From the University Hospital in Martinique

The project's main goal is to collect baseline clinical and procedural data as well as to assess clinical outcomes for all patients undergoing VV, VA or VAV ECMO implantation in the French West Indies and Guiana. All patients undergoing ECMO implantation will be prospectively registered.

Functional Pulmonary Capillary Surface Area in BPA for CTEPH

Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension \[CTEPH\] is caused by pulmonary emboli that have enlarged in pulmonary arteries and have become organized into the vessel wall. Many patients with CTEPH are treated with balloon pulmonary angioplasty \[BPA\] which mechanically opens the narrow pulmonary arteries. It is unclear how much downstream functional pulmonary capillary surface area \[FCSA\] is recovered during BPA. The investigators plan to measure FCSAIn CTEPH patients, before and after a session of BPA.

Smart Technology Facilitated Patient-centered Care for Patients With Pulmonary Thromboembolism

Smart technologies, such as wearable devices, mobile technologies, and artificial intelligence, are being investigated for use in health management. These technologies have the potential to be applied in disease pre-warning, decision-making support, health education, and healthcare maintenance. They are expected to address the challenges in managing thrombosis, improve access to high-quality medical resources in various regions, and enhance the development of a network for thrombosis rescue and treatment prevention. The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of mobile venous thromboembolism application (mVTEA) based patient-centered management of pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) on the long-term outcome of PTE patients, in order to enhance clinical practice and establish a foundation of evidence for managing patients with PTE.

Registry of Catheter Intervention in Pulmonary Embolism

Multicenter longitudinal observational ambispective (retrospective cases from 2014 and prospective from 2018 onwards) cohort study. The registry recruits a series of consecutive patients admitted for moderate-high risk or high-risk pulmonary embolism (according to 2019 European Society of Cardiology guidelines) treated invasively. This study aims to describe the acute management of the safety and effectiveness of different percutaneous interventions for acute pulmonary embolism.

Pulmonary Thromboembolism in Cancer Patients: Early Rule-out From the Emergency Department

Pulmonary thromboembolism is a frequent complication of cancer; in some cases, it is diagnosed occasionally during diagnostic examinations as part of the regular follow-up of the disease. Not all patients diagnosed with thromboembolism present symptoms; therefore, after appropriate investigations during observation in the emergency room and/or a short hospitalisation in Emergency Medicine, they could be discharged home, avoiding lengthy hospitalisations that would have a considerable impact on their health and psychological condition. The goal of this observational study is to compare the efficacy of several assessment scales for use by physicians to identify patients at low risk of developing serious complications of pulmonary embolism within 30 days of diagnosis, in order to be able to identify a group of low-risk patients who could be discharged early from the emergency department/emergency medicine safely. What does participation in this study entail compared to the normal care you receive and what are your responsibilities as a participant? At the time of patient enrolment in the emergency room/emergency medicine, the data necessary for the calculation of 6 scoring systems will be collected, which will take approximately 5 minutes. The patient enrolled in the study will be contacted by telephone in order to assess the state of health; the call will take approximately 1 minute and will take place 30 days after access to the emergency room. Participation in the study does not entail any obligation or restriction, nor will it be charged for.

Personalized Anticoagulant Therapy for Pulmonary Thromboembolism

The goal of this prospective observational study is to explore the influencing factors of the efficacy and safety of anticoagulant therapy for pulmonary thromboembolism in special populations with older age, renal insufficiency or co-existing malignancy, and establish a predictive model to guide clinical practice. The main questions it aims to answer are: * To analyze the influencing factors of the efficacy and safety of anticoagulant therapy for specific populations with pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) in the real world (such as the elderly, those with impaired kidney function, and individuals with malignant tumors). * Whether we can use machine-learning models to predict bleeding events and VTE recurrence in special populations following anticoagulant therapy in the real world? Participants will receive diagnostic and therapeutic measures for pulmonary thromboembolism in accordance with clinical guidelines, including anticoagulant therapy. Some patients need to have peripheral blood samples collected at the time of enrollment and 3 months after anticoagulant therapy.
