Supporting Just-In-Time Consent for Prenatal Screening: The INFORM Study

This clinical trial is about prenatal genetic screening. It will test an intervention to help people make decisions about screening. The intervention is a short set of information cards about screening. This intervention is for pregnant participants. They will use the intervention on their mobile phone before they see their doctor. The study has one main question: * Do participants who use the intervention feel more confident when they make a decision about screening? Researchers will compare participants who use the intervention to participants who do not. All participants will have their usual care when they visit their doctor. What will participants do? * Participants must be pregnant. They will sign up for the study before their first doctor's visit for their pregnancy. This is the visit where their doctor usually talks with them about screening. * Some participants will use the intervention before their first doctor's visit. Other participants will not use it. * All participants will talk with a researcher on the phone after their first doctor's visit. * Participants who use the intervention will answer a short survey on their phone. * A few participants who use the intervention will talk with a researcher a second time on the phone.

Standardized Patients in Arterial Pressure Monitoring Training

This study aims to evaluate and compare the effects of using standardized patients versus static manikins in nursing education for arterial blood pressure monitoring and stabilization training. The primary objective is to investigate the impact of these two different simulation methods on students' cognitive load, clinical skills, and self-efficacy levels. Arterial pressure monitoring is a critical, invasive intervention commonly performed in intensive care units and operating rooms, requiring a high degree of precision. While traditional technical skill assessments usually focus solely on procedural success scores or completion speed, this study utilizes the framework of Cognitive Load Theory to examine the mental toll (intrinsic, extrinsic, and germane load) and psychological readiness (self-efficacy) experienced by nursing students during the procedure. The study will be conducted as a randomized controlled experimental trial with 3rd-year nursing students who have successfully completed their Medical-Surgical Nursing course. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the experimental group or the control group: The Experimental Group will receive theoretical and practical training, followed by performing the arterial pressure monitoring line stabilization on a "Standardized Patient" (an experienced healthcare professional acting a scenario with a moving limb to mimic real clinical chaos without any actual invasive intervention). The Control Group will receive the same training but will perform the stabilization procedure on a traditional static medical manikin. Data will be collected using a Descriptive Information and Performance Recording Form (to measure procedural time and error rates), the Cognitive Load Scale, and the Self-Efficacy Scale for Clinical Skills. Measurements will be taken at baseline (pre-test) and immediately after the intervention (post-test). The findings of this study are expected to provide evidence-based guidance for developing "mind-friendly" nursing curricula and safer, more realistic simulation protocols that enhance student self-efficacy while ensuring patient safety before entering actual clinical environments.

Development of a Multidimensional Predictive Model of Dystocic Labor. Association of Physical Condition and Psychosocial Factors With the Birth Process and Breastfeeding Success.

The goal of this observational study is to learn how a pregnant woman's physical fitness and emotional well-being can help predict the type of birth she will have (such as a natural vaginal birth versus a cesarean section or a birth requiring medical assistance). The study focuses on pregnant women in their third trimester (after 28 weeks of pregnancy). The main questions the study aims to answer are: * Can simple tests of physical strength and questions about emotions (like fear of childbirth) help health professionals predict if a birth might have complications or lack of progress? * Do a woman's physical activity and confidence levels during pregnancy affect her ability to successfully breastfeed her baby for up to 6 months? Participants will be asked to: * Perform two simple physical tests during a clinic visit: a hand-grip test (dynamometry test) and a test to see how many times they can stand up from a chair in 30 seconds (Chair Stand Test, CST). * Complete surveys about their daily physical activity (PPAQ-S), their feelings and fears regarding childbirth (WDEQ-A), and how confident they feel about handling the final stage of birth and the pushing phase (CBSEI-16). * Answer brief follow-up phone calls one month and six months after the birth to talk about how breastfeeding is going.

Development of a Mobile Application Called TansiyoRitim for Hypertension Patients

Based on King's Theory of Goal Success, this project is designed to develop a mobile application called TansiyoRitim for individuals over the age of 18 diagnosed with hypertension. The research consists of the following phases: creating educational content, designing the mobile application, and evaluating the application and its effectiveness. Within the scope of the research, participants' blood pressure control, self-efficacy levels, and treatment adherence behaviors will be assessed using valid and reliable measurement tools, and the goal is to support these behaviors through the developed mobile health application. Participants' clinical treatment processes, pharmacological treatment adjustments planned by the physician, and changes in medication dosages will be excluded from the scope of the project. No intervention will be made in the medical treatment currently being administered during the study; participants' routine clinical follow-up and treatment processes will continue within the framework of standard care. Only educational and mobile app-based supportive interventions will be implemented within the scope of the research.

Effect of Maternal Awareness of the Duration fo the Second Stage of Labor on the Length of the Second Stage

This study aims to understand whether informing laboring patients about how long they have been pushing during the second stage of labor affects the length of that stage and the overall childbirth experience. The second stage of labor is the period from when the cervix is fully dilated until the baby is delivered. When this stage lasts longer than expected, it can increase the chance of complications such as assisted delivery with vacuum or forceps, cesarean delivery, heavy bleeding after delivery, and certain neonatal complications. Although healthcare providers routinely track the duration of the second stage, patients are not always told how long they have been pushing. Some providers believe that sharing this information may help motivate patients and improve their sense of control, while others worry that it could increase stress or pressure. In this study, participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. In the intervention group, patients will receive regular updates about how long they have been pushing during the second stage of labor, and a visible timer will be used. In the comparison group, patients will receive standard care, which does not include structured time updates. All participants will receive the same medical care otherwise. The study will measure the length of the second stage of labor as well as maternal and neonatal outcomes such as the type of delivery, postpartum complications, newborn health indicators, and admission to the neonatal intensive care unit. Participants will also be asked to complete a short questionnaire after delivery about their childbirth experience and sense of control during labor. The risks of this study are minimal because the intervention involves only providing information about time during labor. There are no changes to medical treatment or standard care. The information gained from this research may help clinicians improve communication with patients during labor and may identify simple ways to enhance patient experience and potentially improve labor outcomes. Participation in the study is voluntary, and patients may decline or withdraw at any time without affecting the care they receive.

NICU Utilization of Remote Voice Technology to Improve mateRnal Experience (NURTURE)

The study's objective is to conduct a Phase II randomized controlled trial examining the preliminary efficacy of the VoiceLove app compared to usual care on maternal postpartum depression in mothers with infants admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Primary aim: Assess the effects of VoiceLove on maternal postpartum depression, measured by the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). The estimates from this study will be used for a future definitive Phase III trial. Secondary aim: Assess feasibility, acceptability, and patterns of communication and engagement among mothers, partners, and NICU clinicians during the NICU hospitalization, measured through app usage metrics, satisfaction surveys, and qualitative interviews. The Effect of Gamified Metaverse-Based Training on Nursing Students' Self-Efficacy and Metaverse Perception Regarding Pressure Injury Management

Introduction: Pressure ulcers are a largely preventable clinical problem that negatively impacts the quality of patient care and constitutes a significant economic burden for healthcare systems. The prevention and effective management of these ulcers are closely related to nurses' knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy levels. However, current nursing education programs show a limited number of practice-based and interactive training approaches for the prevention and management of pressure ulcers. In recent years, innovative and technology-supported training methods such as gamification and metaverse have emerged as promising approaches for improving students' knowledge and self-efficacy levels by increasing their active participation in learning processes. Aim: The aim of this research is to evaluate the effect of gamified metaverse-based training developed for nursing students on their knowledge level, academic self-efficacy, and metaverse perception regarding pressure ulcer management. Method: The research was planned as a randomized controlled experimental design. The population of the study will consist of students studying in the nursing department. The sample size was calculated using G\*Power based on PUKAT 2.0-T scores; Assuming a two-way α=0.05 and power=0.80, at least 26 participants were selected for each group, and the total sample size was planned as 60 students, taking into account possible losses. Participants will be administered a Demographic Information Form, the Pressure Ulcer Knowledge Level Assessment Tool 2.0-Updated Version (PUKAT 2.0-T), and the Nursing Students Academic Self-Efficacy Scale. Participants will be randomly assigned to intervention and control groups based on their pre-test scores. The intervention group will receive traditional classroom theoretical training and gamified metaverse-based training for two weeks, while the control group will receive traditional classroom theoretical training. Post-tests will be administered immediately after the intervention and one month later. In addition, the Metaverse Perception Scale will be administered to the intervention group. Data will be collected using the Pressure Ulcer Knowledge Assessment Tool 2.0-Updated Version (PUKAT 2.0-T), the Nursing Students Academic Self-Efficacy Scale, and the Metaverse Perception Scale for Nursing Students. Results: The obtained data will be analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. Conclusion: This research is expected to provide evidence regarding the effectiveness of innovative digital education models in nursing education and contribute to the development of educational strategies for the prevention of pressure ulcers.

In today's world where digital technologies are integrated into every aspect of life, adolescents' unhealthy and uncontrolled use of digital media causes important psychosocial problems such as digital addiction and cyberbullying. This research aims to examine the effects of an art-based nursing intervention program in order to help adolescents born into the digital world gain healthy digital habits. The art-based nursing intervention program that helps gain healthy digital habits aims to increase adolescents' expressive expression skills, develop their skills in coping with challenging situations in the digital environment and strengthen their self-efficacy levels through creative art activities. The research is a randomized controlled trial designed as an experimental type, pre-test-post-test design. The research will be carried out in Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Secondary School in Karatay district of Konya province. The sample group was determined as a total of 64 adolescents, 32 intervention and 32 control. Adolescents will be randomly assigned to the intervention and control groups. The pre-test data of the intervention and control groups were collected before the program started; The post-test data will be collected face-to-face by the researcher after the program is completed using the Personal Information Form, Digital Addiction Scale for Children, Revised Cyberbullying Scale (YSZE-II) and Self-Efficacy Scale for Children. It is expected that the digital addiction and cyberbullying levels of adolescents who are applied the art-based nursing intervention program that helps them gain healthy digital habits will be lower than the control group, and their self-efficacy levels will be higher than the control group. Effects of Stoma Education on Patients

tomas are classified according to the anatomical region in which they are created and the surgical technique used. Stomas that open into the large intestine are called colostomies, those that open into the small intestine are called ileostomies, and the creation of an anastomosis of the ureters to the abdominal wall is called a urostomy. Stomas are commonly used in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. Ileostomy and colostomy are the most frequently encountered types of stomas. While colorectal cancer is the primary reason for intestinal stoma creation, inflammatory bowel diseases, penetrating abdominal injuries, congenital anomalies, obstructions due to diverticular disease, ischemic colitis, radiation injury, sigmoid colon volvulus, and fecal incontinence are also among the indications for stoma creation. Despite advances in surgical techniques, complications are commonly seen in individuals with stomas. Incorrect stoma placement, the use of inappropriate bags and adapter systems, and a lack of knowledge and skills among patients and caregivers play a significant role in the development of complications. Depending on these conditions, patients may encounter problems such as edema, bleeding, ischemia, and mucocutaneous dehiscence in the early postoperative period. These complications negatively affect not only physical health but also the individual's social life, psychological state, and overall quality of life. Symptoms such as peristomal skin problems, uncontrolled gas release, fecal incontinence, and pain can hinder participants' adaptation to daily life and lead to social isolation. Nursing care and patient education are of great importance in managing these problems faced by individuals with stomas. The nursing process requires a comprehensive approach extending from the pre-operative period to the post-discharge phase. In this process, individualized education programs addressing fundamental issues such as nutrition, elimination, sexuality, social participation, and privacy should be implemented to improve quality of life, develop self-care skills, and prevent complications. In this context, the investigators have planned this study to determine the effects of the education provided to patients on stoma adaptation, body image, and self-efficacy.

MAG-PAIN - MAGnesium for Postoperative Analgesia In the Newly Delivered

The study aims to investigate whether a commonly used medicine, magnesium, can help reduce pain after a Caesarean section. A total of 150 participants will be included. Their usual medical care will not change, and participation is entirely voluntary. The purpose of the study is to determine whether magnesium can improve pain relief after surgery and support faster recovery and bonding with the newborn. Before the operation, potential participants will receive a text message containing a short questionnaire about their background and their expectations regarding postoperative pain. On the day of surgery, all patients will receive two intravenous lines as part of routine care. Those who participate in the study will be asked to rate how painful this insertion was on a scale from one to ten. The participants will then be randomly assigned to receive either magnesium or a saltwater solution through a 100 ml drip, which is administered after the baby is born. Neither participants nor the clinical staff will know which solution has been given, and no blood samples will be collected. After the procedure, participants will be asked several times about their pain level. During the first three days after the operation, each participant will receive one text message per day with a short questionnaire about their pain, general recovery, and early bonding with their newborn. Fourteen days after the operation, and again three months later, they will receive additional questionnaires similar to the earlier ones. Each questionnaire takes approximately five to seven minutes to complete, and no extra hospital visits are required. Magnesium can cause side effects, but the risks associated with the dose used in the study are low. The most common side effect is a brief burning sensation at the infusion site, which is not harmful. Magnesium is widely used in medical care, including in pregnant patients, and the study team considers the treatment safe. Because the medication is administered after birth, it does not affect the baby and does not increase risks during breastfeeding. All collected information will be handled securely and confidentially. Data will be coded so that individual participants cannot be directly identified, and only the research team will have access to the key linking codes to individuals. Participants have the right to access their data, request corrections, ask for deletion of their information, or limit how their data is used. The study has been approved by the Swedish Ethical Review Authority, and results will be published in a scientific journal without identifying any participant. No financial compensation is provided, but participants are covered by the usual patient and medication insurance. To ensure that the study is conducted correctly, authorized monitors or authorities may compare study data with medical records. These individuals must sign confidentiality agreements. By giving consent to participate, individuals allow this review. All data will be stored according to legal archiving requirements. Participation in the study is completely voluntary. Individuals may withdraw at any time, and if they do, their collected data will be deleted. Their medical care before, during, and after the operation will not be affected by their decision to participate or withdraw.

Nutrition Labelling Education Program in Socioeconomically Vulnerable Areas

Front-of-pack nutrition labels (FoPLs) have been adopted in many countries to help consumers rapidly assess the nutritional quality of foods and to encourage healthier choices. Among these schemes, interpretive systems such as Nutri-Score appear particularly promising, as their graphic design improves understanding and use compared with more complex or purely numerical formats. In France, where social inequalities in diet-related chronic diseases are pronounced, implementing and effectively using FoPLs is especially challenging in socioeconomically vulnerable areas. Seine-Saint-Denis, a department with a markedly higher prevalence of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases than the national average, offers a relevant setting to test prevention strategies embedded within routine care. The PEANUTS project is a quasi-experimental before-after interventional study conducted in primary care and hospital outpatient settings, with later extension to the social sector. It aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a brief, literacy-sensitive nutrition education program focused on on-pack nutrition information (Nutri-Score, nutrition facts panel, claims and marketing elements) on self-efficacy, food literacy and the nutritional quality of purchase intentions among adults living in vulnerable territories.

Pilot Study of Capacity-oriented Intervention to Promote Food Security and Diet Quality Among Hispanics/Latinos

Despite a large proportion exhibiting cardiovascular disease risk factors and experiencing food insecurity, U.S. Hispanics/Latinos demonstrate low cardiovascular mortality, which may indicate existing capital (e.g., assets) protecting health and diet. The goal of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and short-term efficacy of a pilot intervention aimed at improving diet quality through strengthening food- and diet-related capital and food security among low-income, Hispanic/Latino adults in San Diego, California. The pilot intervention will be integrated into an existing local health or nutrition program serving low-income Hispanic/Latino adults. The CRxDpeer intervention, delivered by a trained peer navigator, in practice called a "peer mentor", includes three evidence-based components: (a) focused education about common social (e.g., food and housing insecurity) and caregiving (e.g., respite and end of life care) needs, (b) activation of personalized community resource information for social and caregiving needs through delivery of a resource list (HealtheRx) at the baseline encounter and coaching on how to communicate with service providers, coordinate services and manage social support (e.g., connect with their peer navigator, reach out to friends or relatives for support, identify support groups, etc.) and (c) ongoing navigation-focused support meant to boost the baseline intervention, including a series of proactive text messages over 12 months. During this time, the subject can respond to and communicate with the peer navigator for ongoing support.

Gamified Healthy Lifestyle Training in Women Undergoing Assisted Reproductive Treatment

Objective: A prospective randomized controlled trial with a pretest-posttest design was planned to evaluate the effects of a gamified healthy lifestyle behaviors training intervention using the D6 model, to be administered to women undergoing assisted reproductive treatment (ART), on healthy lifestyle behaviors and infertility self-efficacy. Aim: Reproductive health and Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) have undergone rapid technological and clinical development in recent years, offering a variety of treatment options to couples struggling with infertility. Methods such as Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) are the most common practices aimed at increasing pregnancy rates. However, these treatments are complex processes affected by high stress levels, emotional burden, and lifestyle factors. Strengthening individuals' sense of self-efficacy strengthens their motivation to adapt to treatment and achieve health-related goals. In this intense and complex treatment process, it is essential to strengthen the self-efficacy perceptions of infertile couples, as this can enhance their motivation to achieve health-related goals by improving their adaptation to the treatment process. Although the literature reveals findings indicating that the development of healthy lifestyle behaviors positively influences the treatment outcomes of individuals undergoing infertility treatment, it is an undeniable fact that developing and sustaining such behaviors is often challenging-even for healthy individuals. For those experiencing infertility, which represents a complex life crisis both psychologically and physiologically, this process can become even more difficult. In this context, gamification is intended to be utilized as an innovative approach by integrating it into the process of promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors among infertile women. Method: This study will be a prospective randomized controlled trial with a pretest-posttest model. The study population will consist of women undergoing assisted reproductive treatment who presented to the In Vitro Fertilization Unit in the Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology Department at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine Service Building, between October 2025 and October 2026. The sample will consist of 105 infertile women who met the study criteria based on a power analysis and agreed to participate in the study. After obtaining informed consent from infertile women who meet the study criteria and agree to participate, the women will be randomly assigned to three groups based on age, type of ART (IUI, IVF, ICSI), and number of treatments to ensure equality between the groups. These groups will be divided into three groups: a group receiving gamified healthy lifestyle behaviors education and a booklet during the ART process, a group receiving only the booklet, and a group receiving standard ART clinic training. All study groups will complete an Introductory Information Form, the Healthy Lifestyle Behavior Follow-up Form for Infertile Women, the Healthy Lifestyle Behavior Scale II (HLBS II), and the Infertility Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form (SES). One group will receive the gamified healthy lifestyle behaviors education program and a booklet, while the second group will receive the healthy lifestyle behaviors education booklet. The third group will receive standard ART clinic training. Post-tests (Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors for Infertile Women Follow-up Form, Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale II, Infertility Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form) and "Gamified Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Training Program Evaluation Form" was given to the group receiving gamified healthy lifestyle behaviors training will be administered to all groups at the end of Month 1. Repeat tests (Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors for Infertile Women Follow-up Form, Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale II, Infertility Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form, and Gamified Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Education Program Evaluation Form) will be administered at Month 3. As part of the study, the effects of gamified healthy lifestyle behaviors and self-efficacy on the healthy lifestyle behaviors and self-efficacy of infertile women who received gamified healthy lifestyle behaviors education and an educational booklet during the ART process will be compared with those of infertile women who received only the educational booklet, compared to those who received standard ART clinic training. This will scientifically demonstrate the contribution of the gamification approach to the behavioral change processes of infertile women.

Talk Parenting Education Program II

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether Talk Parenting, a voice-based program delivered through an Amazon Echo Dot (Alexa), can help parents and caregivers of children ages 3-5 years improve challenging bedtime and morning routines. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does using Talk Parenting improve families' bedtime and morning experiences and children's sleep/wake habits? Does using Talk Parenting improve parents' routine-related parenting practices and confidence, strengthen the parent-child relationship, and reduce children's behavior problems and parents' stress? Researchers will compare families who receive Talk Parenting right away to families who wait 6 weeks to receive the program (a waitlist control group receiving usual services during the wait). Participants will: Complete online questionnaires at the start of the study and again about 6 weeks later (and a follow-up questionnaire later in the study). Receive a pre-configured Amazon Echo Dot (to keep) and instructions to use Talk Parenting routines at home, including a bedtime routine, a brief calming routine, and a morning routine (enabled after the first 2 weeks).

The Impact of a Infant Sleep Hygiene Training Program on Infant Sleep Habits and Parental Self-Efficacy

This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a structured, Infant Sleep Hygiene Education Program initiated during pregnancy on infant sleep habits and parental self-efficacy related to infant sleep in the postpartum period. The program is grounded in developmental science and attachment-sensitive principles and focuses on promoting healthy sleep habits through responsive caregiving, consistent bedtime routines, and evidence-based sleep hygiene practices. Pregnant women will be randomly assigned to either an intervention group receiving a multi-session prenatal education program with postnatal follow-up support, or a control group receiving routine antenatal care. Primary outcomes include parental self-efficacy regarding infant sleep and infant sleep habits (e.g., night awakenings, sleep duration, sleep onset latency, and routine consistency), assessed at 1, 3, and 6 months postpartum. Secondary outcomes include adherence to recommended sleep-supportive parenting practices and infant sleep diary indicators. In addition, the mediating role of parental self-efficacy in the relationship between the intervention and infant sleep outcomes will be examined. Program evaluation outcomes will assess parental knowledge before and after the education, participation and adherence to the sessions, and parental satisfaction with the education program. This study aims to provide evidence for an ethical, developmentally appropriate, and preventive infant sleep education model integrated into routine prenatal care.

Video Game Intervention In Older Adults

The purpose of this clinical trial is to investigate the effects of a rehabilitative game-based intervention on self-efficacy, balance, and visual-motor integration in individuals aged 60 years and older. The primary research questions are: Does the rehabilitative game-based intervention improve balance and visual-motor integration? Does the rehabilitative game-based intervention improve self-efficacy levels? Researchers will compare a rehabilitative game intervention group with a control group. Participants will complete baseline and post-intervention assessments. Individuals in the intervention group will participate in rehabilitative game sessions twice per week for 6 weeks, while the control group will not receive any intervention.

The PREGNANT (Pregnant Resident Empowerment, GuidaNce, and Advocacy iN Training) Coaching Project

This is a mixed-methods study designed to develop and evaluate an innovative coaching program for physician trainee mothers. Approximately 48 participants will be recruited from informational flyers posted in resident work areas and distributed by program directors and GME. Interested participants will email study staff. Participants will be randomized to the control or intervention arm. Intervention participants will meet monthly with a novice physician coach of their choice (one-on-one) and a certified physician coach (with an assigned group of 6 peers through video-conferencing). Participants in both arms of the study will respond to surveys at three points: enrollment (baseline), 4 months, and 7 months. At each point, they will spend approximately 10 minutes filling the survey. The survey will query demographics, burnout, professional fulfillment, imposter phenomenon, self-valuation, self-efficacy, resilience, quality of life, and impact of work on professional relationships. The coaching intervention will last 4 months, and the 7 month survey will be used only to assess long-term effects of the intervention. At the conclusion of the study (7 months after enrollment), participants will be interviewed over video communication (secure Partners or Harvard Zoom) for approximately 30 minutes.
